No major road works projects are in the pipeline to deal with traffic problems in Clane.

Cllr Naoise Ó Cearúil asked Kildare County Council for information about “how it intends dealing with the significant traffic issues in Clane.”

KCC pointed out that the Capdoo link road is due to open in early 2025 and this will provide another route for some of the traffic on the Kilcock and Celbridge roads “with an associated reduction in congestion.”

KCC also indicated that there are “currently no other large scale capital roads projects planned for Clane at present.”

However, once progress is made on transport plans for other areas in the county “consideration can be given to the location of the next local transport plan” and a proposal for Clane can be considered.
