Multiple cars were seized on Kildare roads this week as Gardaí revealed they had caught uninsured drivers, learner permit drivers and a HGV that was deemed "dangerous and defective" on the roads.
The Naas Roads Policing Unit were carrying out multi-agency checkpoints on Tuesday at Ballinadrummy on the R148 and Straffan on the R403.
Gardaí said they impounded a total of four vehicles, one in which the driver had tested positive for drug-driving and one who's tax had been out for 861 days.
In a post on Facebook, An Garda Síochána Kildare said,
"The Naas Roads Policing Unit carried out Multi-agency Checkpoints yesterday at Ballinadrumny on the R148 and Straffan on the R403.
"The Road Safety Authority Ireland The Health and Safety Authority, Customs and Excise, Dept of Social Protection Inspectors and Kildare County Council Environmental Inspectors were also in attendance. A total of 4 vehicles were impounded from -
"The RSA also stopped and examined a HGV which after inspection was seized by Gardai as it was deemed Dangerous and Defective.
"Prosecutions to issue in all cases. FCPNS issued for minor offences."
