Baltinglass Garda District has a new Garda Superintendent

Policing the Wicklow / Kildare border

An Garda Síochána confirmed that Superintendent Martin Creighton has moved to the Baltinglass Garda District.

The allocation took effect on Thursday, May 9 resulting from recent promotions.
In other promotions for Kildare and West Wicklow at the end of March, Superintendent Oliver Henry was promoted from Inspector rank in the Naas District.

Superintendent Declan McCarthy was promoted from the Naas District to the Wicklow District.

The following Superintendents have also been assigned responsibilities following promotion:

Superintendent Padraic Jones to Human Resource Management;
Superintendent Denis Whelan to Cahir District;
Superintendent John McGeary to DMR West (Detective Duties);
Superintendent Goretti Sheridan to Castlerea District;
Superintendent William Keenaghan to DMR Office Co-Ordinating and Tasking Unit (Detective Duties);

The following Superintendents are assigned responsibility on transfer:

Detective Superintendent Sharon Kennedy to Garda National Immigration Bureau (Detective Duties);
Superintendent Carmel Banville to Thomastown District;
Superintendent Adrian Gamble to Midleton District;
Superintendent Colm Noonan to Cork City (Governance Hub).
