The largest graduate careers fair of the summer takes place at Dublin's RDS next week.

The Summer Fair organised by gradireland on Wednesday will feature many of Ireland's top graduate employers and all the information needed to get a start on their career search.

Llcj CO graduate employers exhibiting at the Summer Fair include Abbott Ireland, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Ericsson, Ion Trading, J&J and PwC.

All of the employers exhibiting at the fair will be actively recruiting students and graduates for their graduate programmes, summer internships and immediate graduate opportunities.

This year, gradireland have also invited some of Ireland’s brightest and best tech start-ups to the Summer Fair to meet with students and graduates. Companies like Newswhip, Huddl, Pointy and Uintuition will all be exhibiting.

New research shows that graduate recruitment levels are on the up, with more than half of employers surveyed expecting to find it hard to fill their graduate vacancies because of increased competition.

gradireland Director Mark Mitchell said: “There's no doubt that there are a lot more opportunities coming into the market for graduates who can prove they have the right skills and competencies.”

"Events like the gradireland Summer Fair are tailor made for students to get invaluable face-time with employers who may be looking for candidates just like them."

In addition to jobs, this year’s Summer Fair will feature three rooms of interesting and insightful seminars to help students and graduates with their job search. Topics for these seminars include networking, unlocking the hidden jobs market, how to dress for an interview and personal statements. The fair will also feature a CV clinic where students and graduates can get their CVs reviewed by career professionals at no cost.

“Employers consistently tell us that communication and writing skills are key areas in which many graduates are lacking, in fact they are two of the main skills in this year’s research,” adds Mark Mitchell.

“We've constructed our seminars and CV Clinics for the Summer Fair specifically to tell students and graduates what they need to now, and what employers are expecting of them. It's all about promoting your 'employability' to recruiters, and we can help you do that.”

We’re also very happy to have Catherine Moonan, author and Pitch Coach on TV’s Dragon’s Den, speaking at the Summer Fair, giving participants tips around pitching, presenting, interviews and public speaking.

“Life's a pitch. No-one escapes pitching, presenting, interviewing or public speaking - especially in the work environment. However, not everyone is comfortable with these skills. I'm really looking forward to speaking at the gradireland event and to sharing my expertise as the Pitch Coach on RTE's 'Dragons' Den’,” says Catherine.

For those interested in discovering further study options, there will also be a whole range of postgraduate providers in attendance on the day of the fair. Whether students would like to specialise within their current field of study or branch into a new field, there will be a host of information available on the day of the event.

The gradireland Summer Fair is taking place on Wednesday 8th June from 11 – 5pm in the RDS Simmonscourt Dublin. Entry to this event is completely free by registering on http://summergradfair.ie
