The late Ryan Weir Gibbons passed away in hospital on October 30, 2025, a few days after being found unresponsive at Magee Terrace
A relative of the late Ryan Weir Gibbons has invited the community of Kildare Town to attend Ryan’s First Anniversary Mass.
Ryan was assaulted on October 26, 2025 at Magee Terrace, and was subsequently hospitalised for his injuries after being found in an unresponsive state.
Tragically, he was pronounced dead just a few days later on October 30, 2025.
Ryan was just 29 years old at the time of his death.
The announcement also follows after Kildare resident Ryan Murphy, was handed down a five-year custodial sentence for the manslaughter of Ryan back in July.
Shortly after Mr Murphy’s sentencing, Ryan’s family set up an online petition, in which they called for Ireland’s manslaughter laws to be reformed.
‘COMMEMORATE RYAN’S LIFE’
Taking to social media to make the call, Ryan’s father Edward Gibbons, said: “We would like to welcome all of Ryan’s friends and Kildare Town community to join us in celebrating and commemorate Ryan’s Life in prayer and reflection.”
“Please join us with all of Ryan’s family, friends and the community of Kildare Town or anyone who knew our beloved son,” he added.
Mr Gibbons also included a link to the church’s webcam for the upcoming Mass, which can be viewed here.
Ryan's First Anniversary Mass will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St Brigid’s Church in Kildare Town.
It will begin at 6.30pm.
