The late Mary Foran, fondly remembered by friends and family in Naas

Mary battled cancer for 14 years, with great strength and dignity. Sadly, on November 13 2017, that battle ended for Mary, who would have celebrated her 60th birthday on March 6 this year.

To mark her birthday, family and friends hosted a fun run in aid of the Oncology Unit at Crumlin Hospital. In the past, Mary along with her best friend, May Hughes raised over €4,585 for St John’s ward in Crumlin Hospital so it was fitting to support a cause so close to her heart.

Through her own battle and treatments, Mary had seen many children undergo radiotherapy, something that upset her greatly.placeholder image

“For Mary, this was not right as she felt children should be children. She asked God many times to take her in their place and let them live their lives” said May, a close family friend.placeholder image

“She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunty and friend to so many - always putting others before her own pain and suffering.

“We, her family and friends will continue to fight just as hard as Mary did, to find a cure for this disease that impacts on us all”.placeholder image
