A woman described as being intoxicated fell into bushes during a fight at a residential area, Naas District Court was told.

Kathleen Moorehouse, 43, whose address was given as 1182 Old Greenfield, Maynooth, was prosecuted for a breach of the Public Order Act.

Sgt Mary Meade said the gardaí arrived at an address at The Court, Ledwill Park, Kilcock, on August 22, 2024, at around 11pm.

She added that a large number of people were fighting.

The defendant, she added, was highly intoxicated and had fallen into bushes.

The sergeant said the woman was roaring obscenities and referred to the gardaí as pigs.

She also said she had two previous convictions, including one for criminal damage.

Solicitor David Powderly said a family row had spilled outside and the defendant was at her daughter’s house.

He said the woman is extremely embarrassed because she had used atrocious language. He added she is very apologetic and she had no convictions for breaching the Public Order Act.

Judge John Brennan said the defendant was the aggressor and the gardai were subjected to a lot of abuse. He imposed two fines totalling €300.
