Naas Community Gardaí were on the beat duty in Naas in Co Kildare town this week when they noticed a car parked in a Disabled Parking Bay with its hazards light on.
The driver returned and told the Garda he didn't know it was a Disabled Parking spot.
And added: "But I was only there for a second".
Speaking about the incident, Gardaí said: "We have a very clear zero tolerance approach to this offence.
They are not pick up, drop off or waiting areas.
T"hese spaces are few and required by those who most need them.
"A €150 fine was issued."
