A road closure is due to take place over the course of 12 days in North Kildare.

Explaining the closure, Kildare County Council (KCC) gave notice, on behalf of Globalvia Jons Ltd and in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the road between Monday, April 7, 2025 and Friday, 18 April 18, 2025.

According to KCC, the closure is being enacted for the M4 Bus Priority Measures Pilot Scheme between Junction 6 and Junction 5 on the M4 Eastbound.

Specifically, the M4 Eastbound from Junction 6 - Leixlip / Celbridge (West) Interchange to Junction 5 - Leixlip / Celbridge (East) Interchange.

The closures will take place each day from 9pm until 5am.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

KCC also provided the following information relating to alternative routes while these works are taking place:

"Junction 6 to Junction 5 - Divert from the M4 at Junction 6 (Leixlip / Celbridge Interchange), turn left onto the R449, at the first roundabout take the second exit continuing straight until the junction.

"At the traffic lights turn right onto the R148.

"Continue straight on the R148 through the main street (Leixlip Road) and rejoin the M4 Junction 5 Eastbound."

KCC also said: "Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána."

"Emergency access and restricted Local Access will be maintained," KCC concluded.
