The Leinster Leader understands that Naas GAA manager Joe Murphy is set to leave with immediate effect to manage his native Carlow.

The news comes after Shane Curran's much-discussed departure from the Carlow senior management position and the back and forth that ensued following the Carlow County Board's statement on the issue.

Murphy has managed Naas to their last three Kildare Senior Football Championships.
