A man prosecuted for stealing €262.90 worth of Christmas decorations form a store appeared before Naas District Court.
TJ Gartland, 19, whose address was given as 15 Wheatfield, Cortown, Kells, was prosecuted with taking the items at The Range, Carton Park, Dublin Road, Maynooth, on November 16, 2023.

Sgt Mary Meade told the court the defendant was stopped by security staff and escorted back into the premises. She added that the items were recovered.
She added that the defendant has 22 previous convictions, including 15 for theft, one for assault and one for getting into a car without authority.
Barrister Donncha Craddock told the court that the defendant is currently serving a sentence of some 14 months duration. He also said he had been using drugs and wants to cease this.
Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed a nine month term to start immediately. The judge said that this would not add to the sentence the defendant is serving.
