Kildare man sent a video of himself cutting up partner's clothes to her at Christmas

A man sent a video of himself cutting up his wife’s clothes around Christmas.

The man was prosecuted for breaching a court order on August 8, 2024, and appeared before Naas District Court.

Garda Mairead Whitely said the video was forwarded to the partner and children and was there when the woman woke up on Christmas morning.

The man attended the hearing and stated that he did not want to be represented by a solicitor.

When Judge Desmond Zaidan said he strongly recommended that the man seek legal advice and the man replied that he had done so.

The man also told the court that was living in a van.

Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to May 29.
