The Lilies go into this game off the back of two of the most significant wins in Kildare hurling history with victories away from home against both Laois and Carlow.
Locked on six points with those two sides, who face one another on the final day, a win over Down will ensure Kildare progress to the Joe McDonagh Cup final. If The Lilies are to slip up, they will be hoping that there is a result in the other fixture to avoid missing out if Laois and Carlow were to draw.
