A planning application has been lodged for a €22m residential care development in Rathangan, Co Kildare.

The application, by Nua Healthcare Services Limited, was lodged on Monday, May 26 2025, according to Construction Information Services (CIS.)

The plans are for a 3.8ha site off Kildare Road (R401), Rathangan Demesne, Rathangan, Co Kildare.

The proposed development is to consist of a part 1-part 2 storey approved centre building with 50 bed spaces, and a single-storey services building.

The development will also consist of: a new access road along the eastern boundary of the site connecting to kildare road (R401); a pedestrian / cyclist crossing on kildare road (r401); internal roads, footpaths, and cycle lanes; 104 no. car parking spaces; service yards; bicycle parking; bin storage; plant; an ESB substation; a wastewater pumping station; solar panels; and green roofs.

Also included will be hard and soft landscaping; boundary treatments; public lighting; signage; and all other associated site and development works above and below ground.

The architect in charge of the project is Woods Architecture & Project Management.
