The court was told by Sgt Mary Meade that when gardaí arrived there they were told by the defendant where the items were.
She added that they found €700, which the defendant said was made from the sale of cocaine. The sergeant added that the drug has a value of €1,435.
Solicitor David Powderly said the defendant was fully cooperative.
Mr Powderly said the drugs were for people the defendant either knew or "shared a drug habit with.”
He added that the defendant had been drug addicted and shared with other drug users but he wasn't making a living from it.
He said the defendant was “at the bottom of the ladder” and he had no expensive houses or cars.
Mr Powderly further stated the defendant had addressed his difficulty and he is now clean and this was demonstrated by urine analysis tests the defendant had undertaken.
He said his client is apologetic and had no previous convictions.
Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed a fine of €1,200 for possessing cocaine and he ordered that the €700 be forfeited and donated to the Garda Benevolent Fund.
Judge Zaidan also ordered that the drugs be destroyed.
