The €2.6m development will be located in Shanacloon Lane, Newtown.

The green light has been given for a facility for cats and dogs near Kildare town. 
KWWSPCA (Kildare West Wicklow Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) was granted permission by Kildare Co Council. 
The €2.6m development will be located in Shanacloon Lane, Newtown.
Permission has been granted for a single storey cattery building with corrugated metal roof incorporating cat homing and assessment rooms.
Also in the designs is staff accommodation, a reception area, office and laundry facilities. 
A second smaller building will incorporate cat isolation rooms and associated washing facilities. 
A third building - a dog kennel will incorporate kennels, enclosed outdoor spaces, isolation kennels, treatment rooms, staff accommodation, storage, laundry, reception, office and staff accommodation. 
Car parking spaces for 15 cars are also in the plans as well as including 4 electric vehicle spaces.
