A new update regarding the Royal Canal Greenway (Maynooth to Leixlip) project has been released by Kildare County Council (KCC).

According to KCC, construction works are continuing on the Royal Canal Greenway scheme from Louisa Bridge, Leixlip to Maynooth Harbour.

KCC elaborated: "Upgrade works are continuing on the R148 Road between Pike Bridge and Deey Bridge (Blakestown).

A two-way road narrowing temporary traffic management layout will be in place locally for these works at Pike Bridge."

"Section of the towpath/greenway from R406 Straffan Road, Maynooth to Pike Bridge has reopened to the public. Note the Pike Bridge end of the greenway remains closed until the works at Pike Bridge are complete.

"Entry / exit for this section of greenway is from Straffan Road, Maynooth only.

"Section of the towpath/greenway from Pike Bridge to Deey Bridge (Blakestown) is closed for upgrade works."

KCC further said that general arrangement drawings for the scheme can be viewed here, and added that it wished to apologise for "any inconvenience".
