Well-known former Kildare pub approved for 'change of use'

A well-known former Newbridge, Co Kildare public house has been approved planning permission for 'change of use' of the premises.

The €110k plans, by David Higgins Architectural & Planning Services, will see the former public house – at Eyre Street, Newbridge W12 H279 - transformed into a takeaway.

According to Construction Information Services (CIS), planning application number 2560078 was approved on June 23 2025.

CIS states that the change of use consists of “part of the existing ground floor of the premises formerly known as 'The Winning Post' from licenced premises to a premises for the sale of hot food for consumption off the premises.”

Also included are alterations to the internal layout on the ground floor, new toilet facilities along with "all associated site development, facilitating works."
