Youths stole bike from Kildare-based sports centre, garda says. FILE PHOTOGRAPH / PIXABAY
A number of youths stole a bicycle a from an amenities centre based in County Kildare.
That is according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) who appeared on a KFM radio programme on the morning of Wednesday, June 25 last.
Garda Aidan McGuane told host Eoin Beatty that the theft took place at The Leixlip Amenities Centre on the afternoon of Saturday, June 21 last.
He also said that while gardaí are currently reviewing CCTV footage in relation to the case, which showed "a number of youths" stealing the bike.
Gda McGuane concluded by urging anyone with information about this crime to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí are investigating an unauthorised taking of a bike in Leixlip, County Kildare on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at approximately 3pm."
They added: "Investigation is ongoing."
