Kildare County Council (KCC) has today (July 4) announced a new start date for planned works in North Kildare.

Last week, KCC said: "KCC wishes to inform the public that works will commence on the Scoil Bhríde, Straffan, Safe Routes to School Scheme during the week of June 30, 2025.

"The scheme includes the upgrade of footpaths and pedestrian crossings in the area to enhance the safety for vulnerable road users.

"It is expected that the works will continue throughout the months of July and August, however local access will be accommodated at all times."

Now, KCC has said that it would like to inform the public that, due to unforeseen circumstances, construction of the Scoil Bhríde Straffan Safe Routes to School Scheme will now commence during the week of July 14, 2025.
