Cllr Mark Leigh was told at an Athy Municipal District meeting that the plan is for a two storey terrace development with three two bed dwellings and two one bed apartments.

According to KCC, the intention is to provide age friendly units and units for smaller families in the centre of Athy town.

The removal of the units was recommended following a structural survey.

A public consultation process is likely to happen between October and December with construction taking place in 2026.
