A number of "expensive" watches were stolen from a County Kildare residence last week, according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS).

The incident was detailed on KFM earlier today (September 3) by Garda Sean O'Mahony, who appeared as a guest on one of its programmes.

He told host Eoin Beatty that a burglary took place at the St John's Grove area of Johnstown, Naas on Wednesday, August 27 last.

Gda O'Mahony explained that the crime took place during daylight hours, and resulted in "a number of expensive watches" being stolen by the perpetrator(s).

He concluded by calling on anyone with information relating to this incident to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this specific crime, a spokesperson for AGS replied: "Gardaí received a report of a burglary that occurred between the hours of 8.10am and 1.50pm on August 27 last in Nass [sic], County Kildare."

The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
