All hail King Kai!

Last month, the Leinster Leader reported that one County Kildare man, 29-year-old Kayode 'King Kai' Adebesin, announced his plan to run 15K in aid of a charity.

The charitable organisation he chose was the Cara Projects, a group which focuses on improving the welfare of young girls in Kenya.

In preparation for the event, the Newbridge athlete embarked on a training regimen, honing his stamina in order to achieve his goal which he did on the morning of Saturday, September 6 last.

Kayode's run took place in The Curragh, and eventually concluded at a finish line which was set up at Ballymany Shopping Centre in Newbridge.

Here, he was met with a banner that read: "Congratulations on your achievement — well done Kai, we are so proud of you."

The banner was accompanied by a parallel beams of balloons, which were provided by Nicole's Balloons.
