New-look Emily Square, Athy, Kildare set for exciting reopening

Kildare County Council is pleased to announce that Emily Square in Athy, Co Kildare will reopen this Friday, September 12, following extensive redevelopment and upgrade works, co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund. 

Kildare County Council will host an exciting afternoon of entertainment from 3pm – 6pm, in Emily Square to celebrate the transformation of the town-centre landmark.

The official reopening event will unveil the extent of the enhancements to the public space, as well as striking new public art features, murals and the restoration of significant heritage features. 

The family-friendly event will include musical performances from local acts Sing and Sign Choir and MOA (Made of Athy) along with Jack L.
