On Tuesday, September 9, Naas Roads Policing Unit carried out multi-agency checkpoints in Monasterevin and Clane, Co Kildare.
A total of seven vehicles were impounded (no insurance, no NCT, learner drivers unaccompanied.)
• One disqualified driver was arrested and charged with no insurance, no driving licence and failing to surrender licence after conviction.
• Three vehicles were found with defective tyres (including two goods vehicles) – the vehicles were not allowed to continue until the tyres were replaced.
• One HGV detected with defective brakes – prohibited from use until repaired.
• 17 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) issued for other offences
Gardaí continue to work with partner agencies to keep our roads safe.
