Mental Health Ireland (MHI) has called on County Kildare residents to participate in its upcoming "Move It" initiative.
The call from MHI weaves in with Mental Health Month 2025, which takes place next month, while World Mental Health Day itself takes place on October 10, 2025.
Specifically, MHI is urging workplaces, schools, sports clubs and communities to give up to 60 minutes of movement any day in October to help fund free information, resources and education for communities across Ireland.
MHI outlined how those can take part in three simple steps:

Jo Donohoe, MHI's programmes manager, said that the charity depends on the generosity of people.
She explained: "This generosity helps us to widen our impact by providing more training and information to communities and run more programmes for people with mental health challenges."
Irish Olympian and the current Irish marathon record holder, Catherina McKiernan, is also supporting the campaign — she added: "The key is to find activities you enjoy, and know when you take care of your healthy, you’re investing in a better, more vibrant future."
