A design image of the proposed development
Plans have been submitted for a major €5.8 million motor showroom and vehicle service complex at a site adjacent to the Bundle of Sticks Roundabout in Newhall, Naas in Co Kildare.
Crossings Motor Centre on the Sallins Road is behind the proposed development.
The planned project will include a one- and two-storey motor sales showroom along with a vehicle service garage and workshop, covering a total gross floor area of approximately 2,877 square metres.
The building will provide space for car sales, servicing, parts storage, offices, and staff and customer facilities.
A separate single-storey web display and valet bay building is also included in the plans, allowing vehicles to be showcased and prepared for customers.
The site will feature extensive signage, including illuminated fascia, logo and dealer signs on several elevations of the building, as well as four large freestanding signs, including totem and screen-style displays.
Other elements of the development include a canopied car wash, vehicle display podiums, new and used car display areas, demonstration zones, service bays, and vehicle storage areas.
Parking will be provided for both staff and customers, including electric vehicle charging points and cycle parking facilities.
The plans also include landscaped areas, boundary treatments, lighting, and hard and soft landscaping works.
A gated compound with bin storage will be constructed, along with new pedestrian and vehicular access from Local Road L6066.
A public footpath and bus stop connection to the R445 is also proposed.
Sustainability measures include the installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels and sustainable urban drainage (SuDS) systems to manage surface water run-off.
Site servicing works will involve new water and wastewater connections, including a rising main to the public sewer network and a surface water discharge link to existing infrastructure.
If approved, the development is exp2ected to support local employment during both the construction phase and ongoing operations, while enhancing motor retail facilities in the Naas area.
