Gardai in Newbridge, Co Kildare are investigating the theft from a vehicle which occurred in Newbridge last weekend.

Details of the incident were given by Gda William Barry of Newbridge Garda Station, who was a guest on Kfm's Crime Watch slot on Wednesday, February 18 2026.

According to Gda Barry, the incident occurred on Sunday, February 15 2026, when a vehicle parked at a car park on the Ballymany Road was broken into.

The incident took place between 8.15pm and 8.45pm on Sunday, February 15 last.

A number of power tools were taken from the vehicle during the incident.

Gardai would like to speak to anyone who saw anyone in the area acting suspiciously, in the Ballymany Road area at that time.

Anyone with CCTV footage is asked to check the footage for any suspicious activity in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Newbridge Garda Station at: (045) 440180.

A garda statement read: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged theft from a vehicle outside a commercial premises in Ballymany, Newbridge, Co.Kildare on Sunday 15th February, 2026 that occurred between the hours of 8:15pm and 8:45pm.

Investigation is ongoing.”
