Planning permission has been granted for a major €17 million residential care facility at Rathangan Demesne in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.
The development will see the construction of a part one- and part two-storey Approved Centre building providing 50 bed spaces, with a total floor area of 6,392.5 square metres.
A separate single-storey services building measuring 413 square metres is also included in the plans.

A pedestrian and cyclist crossing on Kildare Road is also proposed, alongside internal roads, footpaths and cycle lanes.
A total of 104 car parking spaces will be provided, in addition to bicycle parking, service yards, bin storage, plant areas and an ESB substation.
Plans also include a wastewater pumping station, solar panels, green roofs, hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, public lighting and signage.
The scheme is being developed by NUA Healthcare Service Ltd.
The decision to grant planning permission was issued on February 12, 2026.
