Man 'smashed Costa coffee shop in Kildare window and stole €1,000'

It's also alleged that the money was taken from a safe

A man was involved in an incident in which it was claimed that a window was smashed at a Costa Coffee outlet and cash was stolen.

The allegation was made at Naas District Court against Eric Carroll, 42, whose address was given as 36 Claddagh Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin.

He is being prosecuted for alleged criminal damage and taking €1,095 cash from the Costs Coffee outlet at Dublin Road, Maynooth.

Sgt Mary Meade said two males were involved in the incident, which took place after 1 am on July 5, 2024, and the money was taken from a safe.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the matter and the defendant was initially remanded in custody.
