An impassioned plea has been made to the public in County Kildare in relation to two struggling elderly households.
The plight being faced by the two households was highlighted by Social Democrats councillor Chris Pender, who is based in Newbridge.
He added: "Unfortunately both situations fall outside the available grant schemes, so I am hoping someone might be able to lend a hand."

Cllr Pender also specified the issues being faced by both households.
In the case of the first household, an older woman currently has no heating.
Cllr Pender explained: "An older woman locally needs her chimney rebuilt or repaired.
"The chimney is unsafe so it cannot be used, which means she currently has no way to heat her home."
He added: "If there is a roofer, builder, chimney specialist, or anyone with the skills who might be willing to help, ideally free of charge, it would make a huge difference."

Regarding the second household, Cllr Pender said that the inhabitants are "an older couple in the area also need help with a flat roof that is leaking".
He elaborated: "Again, if there is anyone working in roofing or construction who might be willing to help out, ideally free of charge, or who could donate materials or labour, it would mean a lot."
"If you think you might be able to help with either situation, please contact me directly: phone 085 829 8237 or email chris.pender@socialdemocrats.ie," Cllr Pender concluded.
