Naas AFC has announced its largest-ever fundraising initiative, with a major community event set to take place later this month in Naas.

The event, titled Quid Games 2026, will be held on Saturday, April 25 at Lawlor’s Hotel and will see participants compete in a series of high-energy challenges for a top prize of €10,000.

Open to anyone aged 16 and over, the fundraiser is designed to bring the local community together while supporting the continued development of the fast-growing club.

Naas AFC has experienced significant expansion in recent years, now catering for more than 900 players, supported by 140 coaches across over 40 teams. However, club officials say facilities have struggled to keep pace with this growth.

Ongoing weather-related disruptions have resulted in matches and training sessions being cancelled for extended periods, while increasing demand has led to waiting lists for the first time in the club’s history.

A spokesperson for the club said the event is aimed at addressing these challenges while strengthening community ties.

“Naas AFC has grown hugely in recent years, but our facilities have not kept pace,” the spokesperson said. “This event is about giving our players, and future players, the opportunity to train and play in proper conditions all year round. We’re asking the community to get behind us, take part, and help us build something really positive for the next generation.”

Participants in Quid Games 2026 will compete in a series of fun and competitive games on the night, with one overall winner walking away with the €10,000 prize.

The club is also calling on businesses from across County Kildare and beyond to support the initiative through sponsorship. Organisers say the event presents an opportunity for companies to connect with a large local audience while aligning with a community-focused organisation.

A range of sponsorship packages is available, offering promotional opportunities in the lead-up to the event and on the night itself.

In addition, Naas AFC is appealing to local businesses to donate raffle prizes, which will be used to boost fundraising efforts. Donors will receive promotion through the club’s channels and during the event.

Organisers say the fundraiser represents more than just a single night of entertainment, with funds set to go towards improving facilities and ensuring more children in the area can access football throughout the year.

The club is encouraging anyone interested in taking part, sponsoring or contributing to get involved ahead of the April 25 event, which is expected to attract strong local interest.
