M50 congestion seriously hurting Dublin businesses

The substantial delays that people face getting to work almost every morning by using the M50 and the M7 motorways is having an adverse effect on businesses in the capital according to the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. The city's chamber reported that 57% of 303 people surveyed said that the rising congestion had increased their costs in the past year also. In one case, a company even decided to move out from the M50 to another area where traffic congestion would not prove to be such a negative factor. Finance Minister Michael Noonan recently claimed that problems such as traffic congestion were a 'problem of success'. Traffic was typically heavy on the M50 and the M7 this morning once again, with very long delays on the M7 near the M9 interchange in particular.
