Co Kildare brewer of internationally renowned beers get award

A Co Kildare beer brewing company has been awarded at a prestigious national event. Kilcock based companies Rye River Brewing Company and Netwatch were award winners at the ‘Ulster Bank Business Achiever 2015’. The national final, which took place at the Mansion House in Dublin on Thursday last toasted the cream of the crop in Irish business crowning finalists from Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht.The awards, in association with the Irish Independent, Enterprise Ireland and InterTradeIreland, saw a record number of entries this year as 676 businesses competed nationally, culminating in the announcement of the winners at a gala dinner . The winner of the Business Start Up Award was Rye River Brewing company. The Rye River Brewing Company was established in November 2013. The brewery employs 54 people and produces a range of fifteen beers including six McGargle beers. The Company also acts as a distribution centre for imported brands such as Bavaria and San Miguel along with craft beers from Coiso, which is from Denmark and Innes & Gunn from Edinburgh. The Rye River Brewery is located in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, which is a town with rich and long Brewing and distilling history. The International Business Award went to Netwatch. Established in Carlow in 2003, Netwatch deploy the most advanced video processing technologies to proactively monitor and protect their client’s properties and assets. Netwatch’s technology and service is unique as it proactively protects properties using live audio warnings to ward off intruders. Intervention Specialists direct the operations remotely from the Netwatch Communication Hub in Carlow, visually verifying the intruders, and intervene as soon as security is breached by verbally alerting the intruders they are being watched with a personalised warning. Netwatch have over 160 staff members across Irish, UK and USA offices.
