Famous stud gets go-ahead for expansion

Kildangan Stud
Kildangan Stud near Monasterevin has been granted planning permission for a major expansion. The 1,500 acre facility is adding a new shed for storing farm vehicles and hay. The stud is famous for horses such as Shamardal (pictured) who was guided to top Group One victories by veteran jockey Frankie Dettori. Godolphin Ireland Unlimited had applied to Kildare County Council for planning permission to build a single-storey extension to the existing farm vehicle storage building at Kildangan. The works also involved the construction of an underground slurry storage tank and landscaping.
