Crash on the N7 adds to massive delays being caused by Electric Picnic traffic

If you're on the roads around Kildare this evening it may be best to try and avoid the N7 as traffic on that route has been moving at a snail's pace all evening. Delays were quite severe for most of the day from the early afternoon onwards, but it is progressively getting worse following an accident near J8 Johnstown. Traffic in the area is moving very slowly from J4 Rathcoole right down to the M7/M9 Interchange, with the worst affected area being near the site of the accident. https://twitter.com/LiveDrive/status/771729834506653697 There doesn't seem to be any major delays on the M7 approaching the Stradbally exit however, although there are delays on the roads closer to the Electric Picnic venue. Elsewhere, the usual volumes of heavy Friday evening traffic are being experienced in Naas and Newbridge, while things are moving slowly on the M4 Outbound from Dublin.
