The upgraded community garden in Kilcock will be opened this summer if everything goes to plan, according to Kildare County Council. The garden has been undergoing works for quite some time now, but the council have confirmed that the work is due to be completed in the next three months. Cllr Paul Ward requested an update on the garden from the council, who said that they are currently planting a hedgegrow between the garden and the adjoining housing estate. "Completion of the reinstatement of the community garden is underway at present. The planting of a hedgerow between the adjoining housing estate will be carried out in March - April 2018," read a report from the council. "Pruning of the trees and remaining hedgerow will be carried out as part of trees works in the Maynooth Municipal District Area. This will be done in March - April. Quotations are being sought for the reinstatement of the railing and entrance piers at present and it is hoped to have this completed by June 2018."
