KCC confirms temporary closure of Celbridge Road to last 3 days

By Kim O'Leary The closure of Celbridge road for some days has been confirmed by Kildare County Council and the temporary closure are as of a result of necessary drainage works in the area and the works will take place during the first week of April. Surface water drainage works means the road from the Barberstown Roundabout to the Ardrass Road at the Steam Museum will be shut between April 3rd and 6th and works will be underway between 9.30am and 4.30pm Diversions are as follows: Travelling in an easterly direction from Clane on the R403 and northerly direction from Straffan on the L1011, the diversion route will be northbound along the R406 at Barberstown roundabout following sign for R406 Maynooth. At “Maxol” service station turn right following sign for R405 Celbridge. At Celbridge Famine Graveyard turn right on to Shackleton Road following sign for R449 Clane. Travelling in a westerly direction from Celbridge on the R403 the diversion route will be eastbound along the R449 Shackleton Road following sign for R449 Maynooth. At Tesco, turn left following sign for R405 Maynooth. At “Maxol” service station turn left following sign for R406 Naas. Motorists are being advised to take care when travelling in the area during the temporary works with the possibility of surface water in some parts.
