A man will be sentenced today at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in relation to a major drugs bust that was made in Dublin in 2017. 38-year-old Louth man Eoin Morrow was caught bringing drugs worth €1.38 million across the city towards Newcourt Business Park in Finglas on July 25 of last year. He and 31-year-old Suncroft resident John Needham were observed removing boxes from the truck onto a trolley which was bound for the business park. Mr Needham was the driver of the truck. A number of Gardaí discovered four large cardboard boxes of cannabis resin and 29 boxes of Zopiclone prescription tablets during a subsequent search of the truck and building. The garda told Elva Duffy BL, prosecuting, that the 96kg of cannabis was worth €580,200 and the 400,000 Zopiclone pills were valued at €800,000. Mr Needham pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis resin and supplying a prescription-only drug at St Margaret's Road, Finglas, Dublin on July 25, 2017. He received an eight-year prison sentence. Mr Morrow, who has 15 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to the same offence and will be sentenced in court today.
