Solar Farm being planned for Brownstown near Curragh

Planning permission has been applied for a solar farm to be installed over the restored KTK landfill in Brownstown. The proposed facility will have an export capacity of approximately 3 Megawatts (MW) comprising photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames. The panels will be connected to an existing single-storey ESB Sub-Station. The designs also include the installation of transformers, ducting and underground electrical cabling. The planning application has been lodged by Starrus LFG Limited, based in Ballymount, Dublin.
