Eight projects in Kildare will be the beneficiaries of Tesco's Blue Token campaign over the next eight weeks. There has already been almost €200,000 raised by Tesco for local projects in Kildare alone, and the next projects that will benefit are spread right throughout the county.

The Tesco Community Fund has supported 538 local projects to date donating over €195,611.48. For the next eight weeks Tesco’s stores across Kildare will be using their blue token to support a wide range of local projects:

  • Shoppers in Tesco Celbridge will be able to support Gavin Glynn Foundation, Meals On Wheels and Men’s Walking Soccer Group
  • Tesco Clane will be supporting Daisy Chain Animal Foodbank, The Hedgehog Club and Wild Kildare
  • Shoppers in Tesco Kilcock Express will be able to support Kilcock Basketball Club, Kilcock Men's Shed and MSD Action Foundation / Saving Dylan
  • Tesco Kildare will be supporting Irish Guide Kildare Branch, KWWSPCA and Wild Kildare

Christine Heffernan, corporate affairs director Tesco Ireland, commented: “At Tesco we are delighted to be able to support such amazing local initiatives through our Community Fund. The Tesco Community Fund is open to a wide variety of good causes or groups so if you think you know a local organisation that could benefit from some extra funding, please nominate them in store today. And don’t forget to vote for your preferred cause each time you shop using your blue token, because it really does make a difference.”
