Kildare County Council are anticipating that there will be around 14 electric car charging points provided for county Kildare in the near future. The new charging points have been popping up all over the country due to the increase in popularity of electric vehicles, and Cllr Joanne Pender recently requested that the council ask that an e-car charging space was installed at each public park in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District. The council outlined that plans have already been put in place. “The Eastern Midlands Climate Action Regional Office (CARO), based at Kildare County Council, has made an application for funding from the Government’s Climate Action Fund for the provision of electric vehicle charging points for the 17 Local Authorities in the region,” read a council report. “Subject to the award of funding, it is anticipated that there will be a total of 14 electric vehicle charging units available at locations throughout County Kildare.”
