Naas Country Market celebrates 65 years of trading

Naas Country Market is celebrating its 65th birthday in 2017.

Traders are commemorating this occasion in the Town Hall tomorrow in conjunction with International Friendship Day.

Minister for Community and Rural Affairs, Minister Ring will be guest of honour at the event from 9.45am to 1.15pm.

PRO Karen Plewman said: "We, the producers, are bringing a friend and we hope our customers will do the same. After all, where would we be without friends.....?

"We will have live entertainment, craft demonstrations, story telling, 1950's memorabilia, teas and coffees (with our delectable cakes and biscuits, of course!) while our thriving market continues its' weekly business. We are very proud of our market.

"We are particularly pleased to add that our Minister for Community and Rural Affairs, Minister Ring, has accepted our invitation to visit us on the day.

"We are hoping, weather permitting, that our trumpeter will herald Minister Ring's arrival from the front steps of the Town Hall!"
