Hair 'pulled from woman's head by husband' is brought to Kildare court

The woman also handed in pictures of a cut lip she alleged had been inflicted by him and images of bruising to her body
A woman brought a clump of hair, which she claimed was pulled from her head by her husband, to court.
The woman attended a Naas District Court hearing and handed her hair in a plastic bag to presiding judge Valerie Corcoran.
She said her husband, who did not attend and was not represented, had started arguing with her when she was cooking dinner for the children. She further alleged he jumped on her and pulled her hair.
As well as the clump of hair, the woman also handed in pictures of a cut lip which she said had been inflicted by him as well as images of bruising to her body.
The images included pictures of bruising to her buttock and breast.
“He lunged at me and pulled my hair,” she claimed, adding “it’s been ongoing for a long time.”
The court was also told that they live in a council house with both their names on the lease.
Judge Valerie Corcoran granted an interim protection order, which she said was to be served on the man by the gardaí. She also said the man is to have no contact with her except by text or email regarding the children.
