An urgent recall has been issued for approximately 15,000 soft toys won in Irish claw machines due to safety fears.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued the alert on Friday that Munster Leisure Machines is recalling approximately 15,000 colourful animal soft toys as they do not comply with the Toy Safety Regulations.

The products do not have a CE mark and "likely present a serious risk to children".

The brand, type, barcode and batch number are unknown. The product was manufactured in 2021 and 2022 and there are approximately 15,000 affected products in the Republic of Ireland, according to the CCPC.

The soft toys were stocked in claw machines between June 2022 to May 2023 at three children’s activity centres in the south of Ireland:

  • Premier Play Ireland Limited (The Playdium), Tralee, Co. Kerry.
  • Monkey Maze, Glanmire, Co. Cork.
  • Little Rascals, Mallow, Co Cork.

Customers are advised to stop using the product and keep it out of the reach of children.

For more information regarding this recall and how to obtain a refund you can email Munster Leisure Machines at .
