the Irish Aviation Authority, says temporary restricted areas (TRAs) of airspace will be required to be put in place over Dublin city between May 21 and May 23
Pilots and drone operators are being warned of restrictions in the skies over Dublin for three days next week due to a "planned State security operation".
In a notice, published this Tuesday, the Irish Aviation Authority, says temporary restricted areas (TRAs) of airspace will be required to be put in place over Dublin city between May 21 and May 23.
No specific information has been disclosed in the notice but it's understood the security operation relates to the UEFA Europa League final, between Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta, which takes place at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, May 22.
The final details of any TRAs will be announced in the coming days by way of a formal "Notice to Airmen".
The IAA says pilots and operators of Unmanned Aircraft Systems should check in advance for this information prior to undertaking any flights within the Dublin CTR (controlled traffic region) next week "to ensure they do not infringe any of these TRAs."
Failure to comply with a TRA is a criminal offence and drones operated in breach of any restrictions may be subject to seizure by members of An Garda Síochána as evidence for potential prosecution and in the interest of safety.
