Gardai appeal after pedestrian injured in Cork motorbike crash

Gardai have appealed for information after a man was left in a serious condition after a road crash in Cork.

A male pedestrian in his 60s was injured after being hit by a motorbike on the Churchfield Road at 6.10pm on Friday.

Gardai said the motorcyclist and pillion passenger left the scene.

The man is in a serious condition in Cork University Hospital, gardai said on Saturday.

Gardai are also investigating an incident of criminal damage at property in the Shanakiel area at 5.40pm, and arrested a man after seizing a suspected firearm on Friday.

The man, in his 20s, is in custody in a Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

Gardai have appealed for anyone with information about either incident to contact them.
