U2 frontman Bono among the familiar faces spotted at Irish festival over the weekend

U2 frontman Bono and well-known author Roddy Doyle were among the celebrity faces to be spotted in Kilkenny over the weekend as familiar faces flocked Noreside for the 'Kilkenomics' festival.

The hugely popular economist; columnist and festival founder David McWilliams and comedian David McSavage were amongst the line-up over the four day festival which ran from Thursday to Sunday.

According to readers of Kilkenny Live, Bono was seen in Tynan's Bridge House Bar and Rive Gauche in the city.

The U2 star wasn't the only familiar face in Kilkenny for the weekend with former Irish soccer star Roddy Collins in town to record a podcast in the Set Theatre.
