Met Éireann issues advice to take 'necessary precautions' as sunny spells expected
Met Éireann's current weather indications suggest temperatures to range between 10 to 13 degrees for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with no frost or snow expected.
Weather indications could see Ireland experiencing it's hottest Christmas on record, if it exceeds 13.7 degrees.
Met Éireann has stated that from the "23rd to 29th December, the weather across Ireland is expected to be dominated by high pressure with a mild southwesterly airflow for much of the period. Rainfall amounts will be small and it will be mild for late December, with temperatures possibly around two degrees above average."

Ladbrokes has said that the "odds have shortened to 3/1 for this Christmas to be the hottest on record."
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes has said: “All we can do is dream of a white Christmas this year if the forecast is to be believed. It may be time to take out the t-shirts and shorts for the big day.”
