Gardaí confirm human remains as Michael Gaine amid major investigation update
Gardaí have given an update in the investigation into the death of Kerry farmer Michael Gaine.
The update comes after human remains found on his farm were confirmed to be those of Mr Gaine.
In a statement on Monday, gardaí said: "Human remains found at farmland at Carrig East, Kenmare have been identified as being the remains of Michael Gaine.
"Gardaí continue to appeal to the public for assistance in this investigation.
"The Garda investigation team can be contacted at Killarney Garda Station on 064 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or speak with any member of An Garda Síochána."

They also confirmed the scene is still cordoned off and searches are continuing.
